Your State District Judge in the Criminal Courthouse.
Supporter Demi Stewart and Judge Andy Porter at the Cowtown Republican Women’s Club on January 3, 2022.
Since January 2, 2023, I have served as your steward of Criminal District Court 4 (CDC4), overseeing the most serious of felony cases prosecuted in Tarrant County.
I promised to attack the COVID-19 backlog . Since taking office 30 months ago, I’ve reduced CDC4’s total number of pending cases by nearly 33%.
I’ve worked with my fellow judges to maximize your tax dollars. Working together, we eliminated wasteful spending in the criminal courthouse. We’ve streamlined processes, improving operational efficiencies and reducing the time it takes to get cases to trial. And I implemented policy changes that made your judges more available to aid state and federal law enforcement agents that ever before, including most major holidays.
Four years ago I took an oath to uphold the Texas and United States Constitutions. I will continue to do so.
Four years ago I also promised to resolve cases without fear or favor. I will continue to do so.
And four years ago I promised to decide cases by following the law as written rather than by rewriting the law in an open and transparent court. I will continue to do so.
Thank you, Tarrant County, for this great honor. I look forward to continuing as your steward of Criminal District Court No. 4.
Sincerely,
Judge Andy Porter
